BW2 Feb challenge

Wow ....so hot again today! I hope you are all keeping cool!
I love the Black with 2 challenges, so I was thrilled to be asked to be a Guest Designer for this months challenge.
And I love this mood board...

Well my DREAM  for years has been  to go overseas.....and it finally came true!
And when I saw this door ....I immediately thought of how we all get stuck in a rut at some time or other and
how we should just open the doors and live our dreams.

I have put too much white on my page....don't make that mistake!

Here I am with all my shopping bags in the rain in the streets of Kuala Lumpur.....I was actually rather wet!!

It took me ages to do the doors.....mainly because I messed the first lot up!
Had to hang a key there......to unlock the door....

Those little aqua crosses are actually bits of washi tape

This is such a cool mood board...I hope you can find the time to join in...

Purple Pumpkin Jan challenge

It's my first time entering a challenge at Purple Pumpkin.....especially since this sketch is by Lizzy Hill!

I was not intending this to look so chrismasy...even though it was the pageant night.....it just sort of turned out that way , with all the red and green!
I don't know why it's looking all pink.....it has just uploaded this way???

I think I went too far down with the stripes of green paint ...it feels unbalanced to me...
Anyway here are some close ups...

I have use a few old rubons and washi tape of course and my favourite little stars from The Trinket Track

So.... yes this Granny spoils her babies and this night the whole 5 were there and I came home with a empty purse! I don' mind giving them a treat every now and then as they never ask and they really do appreciate it.

Kraft it up Jan challenge

I thought this month's challenge at Kraft it up was a beauty...summer theme, number and washi tape....can't get better than that!
I decided to scrap photos of the grand kids on Christmas day playing with water balloons, while the adults were relaxing playing darts. They played so good together....usually there is some sort of incident! But remarkably they played for ages....the boys were obviously not stirring the girls!

I hope you get the title..".4 kids plus water balloons equals fun "

I still had some balloons left ? and thought why not put them to good use!

These little sayings are from Flutterby designs (beautiful goodies in my package!!)
I have just popped them on some cardstock

Had to splash a bit of paint around and finally gelatos on the white diecut

Jack and James were throwing the balloons on the roof and as they bounced off were trying to catch them without breaking. I'm not to sure what the girls were doing...looks like they were filling them up for the boys.....which I can't quite believe! Thank goodness someone remembered to clean the gutter out and I was left to pick up balloons.....everywhere, considering earlier we all had a fantastic water balloon fight.
Man these are FUN !!

WW1 Jan challenge

My second post for today....you can see what I have been doing in the heat!

This one is over at White with 1 and the criteria

Well now my layout is so completely different to my usual style
and I still don't know what to think of it!
The photo is a bit funny as it is taken of my bathroom tiles

My first time messing around with gelatos for a background
I then painted gesso through a paper doily

Added some torn up strips of washi tape

And finally the photo..... this was on Boxing  Day and the kids
were in the bath trying out the bath crayons.
I thought that my son had done this.... until tonight
when he said he only wrote Kasey's name on the tiles and she did the rest...

Oh well... I guess they are still young!

Pixels and Paper Jan challenge

Hi.....I survived the heat wave!  Phew 5 days of that terrible heat.......garden is rather frizzled!
So it is cooler tonight and every window is open, trying to get that fresh air circulating through the house!

The challenge over at Pixels and Paper is to use this photo as inspiration
When I look at this , I just think of kids trying to cool off and have some fun, so
when I took these photos on Wednesday morning, when it was so hot already.......I thought
of this challenge straight away!
The background is slightly more aqua than this
I have used my stencil and a few blobs of blue paint

My handwriting seems to be getting worse, so I have printed out my journaling

A few pink bling and a butterfly of course....

After this these two little darlings found
a bare bit of lawn and instantly were covered in mud .
That's when I decided to squirt them off
and go inside.

Color me Scrappy Jan 15th challenge

Hi
Time for the mid month challenge at Color me Scrappy

Runs from 1/15/2014 through 1/31/2014
Twist: Use Tribal elements (arrows, feathers, etc) · Updated about 3 months ago

When I first saw this I thought oh my goodness .......what am I going to do ?
But then I remembered these photos I took in Kuala Lumpur of the twin towers at night.....they look spectacular!

I have kept this simple.....just added these wonderful mesh stars and tiny ones

My tribal element is the arrows, which I have painted and dabbed a bit of grey gelato
(I think stars are tribal too)

I have used grey gelato for my border

Aren't these buildings spectacular......they just sparkle!
This photo was taken from an adjacent building through a window........very  high up...but I am so happy with how it turned out!

First Reveal at ARTastic challenge blog

Well my good news is.....I am on the design team at Artastic challenge blog.......yah

This month's challenge ( which started on Jan 1st) is to be inspired by this beautiful piece of work by Vexta
Added criteria is to use triangles or diamonds

I was inspired by the triangles and diamonds and used the triangles like arrows to direct you around the page and to incorporate the diamonds....I made up this saying
“ True friendships are like diamonds. They can’t be broken and they always sparkle”

At our Xmas pageant last year, 3 mates were together after 20 years or so and the stories kept rolling all night! Indeed true friendships pick up were they left off, no matter how many years pass!

I have popped a foam dot under each triangle for more dimension......though it doesn't really show in the photos
Splattered black paint for the background and my saying in the bottom corner

I could not photograph this properly and after a million tries...I gave up .....and unfortunately the colours are not looking so good!

But do check out the blog.
On the 8th of each month is a segment called The ARTastic 3T's - Tips, Tricks and Techniques..... and this month's is already up!

Thanks for looking
