Colour me Scrappy April 1st

Hi...a very quick post while the Grand children and Pop cook tea.....YAH!
I even have a menu with dessert sounding  pretty good....'Jack and Gemma's layered delight"

Well back to this challenge and a fantastic colour scheme!

I decide to do a layout of my other Grand Son, Kerris
The photos where taken the other weekend when we looked after him.....gorgeous cheeky little fellow!

Lots of washi tape...the colour is more aqua

I love using gelatos to colour plain alphas and it is so easy to outline them too

Take a look at the other Design Team examples...beautiful work
Check them out HERE

Have Easter everyone...please be safe

ARTastic April challenge

Time for the mid-month DT reveal at ARTastic

Criteria is anything goes but your photos must depict crazy antics, silliness or loads of fun.

“This challenge reminded straight away of my son on his 13th birthday. We went away to do fishing (his passion) and I had smuggled a sponge cake, cream, jelly and beaters in the caravan, for a surprise cake. Good old Michael to all our amazement....went and stuck his face in his serving of cake! At the time I can’t remember whether I thought it was funny or if I was cheesed off....considering all my smuggling efforts! Now I just think......typical Michael! “

Lucky the photos were okay, except for the one of his face covered in whipped cream!

I had these red plastic squares on my desk ( the frame for the caps for those cap guns) so I have based the rest of the layout around squares

Hope none of you got tricked on April fools day...I did!

Purple Pumpkin April

This sketch at Purple Pumpkin caught my eye, but instead of using the triangles I tried something different

I have coloured in the sunglasses on my background paper to give the same effect
The red ones are mounted

I've used the old Dynamo for my journaling and strips of washi tape (mounted on white cardstock)

This photo was actually taken today by my daughter and she emailed it to me....Ha Ha ....she knows not to trust her mother!

And finally

Colour me Scrappy April 1st

Hi everyone....we are having a last blast of Summer before Autumn stets in,
And I have to say it is a bit of a shock to the system!
But here is the new challenge...beautiful colours

I found this one SO much easier than the last challenge....thank goodness!
Another layout of my newest Grand Child...Kerris....and what a gorgeous little devil he is!

I am always looking for my pegs and the trail goes all over the backyard and inside ! LOL
This weekend we are looking after Kerris and his big sister, Glacia for the whole weekend....wow I am feeling exhausted already !

Lots of layering...got the old scalloped circle punch out

Washi tape , resin flowers from the Trinket Track, frames are from a thickers element sheet ( I think)...which I have changed to brown

I have taken a few shots to give you the idea of dimension

Great colours to work with...hope to see you there!

Orange Paperie March

Hi....my last post for March and it is to join in the challenge at Orange Paperie & Co
Now this one is to scrap a vintage photo ....but not in traditional vintage colours
I have chosen a pic of my two eldest sisters, taking the kittens for a walk...and the dog
I love these old prams....wished we still had them!

The colours look wrong...but I am heading out into the garden and I haven't got time to fiddle with them!
I have made a border with modelling paste and then run a gelato over it

I have scrunched up the paper for a vintage feel, but you can't really see it here
I have added a bit of gesso around my alphas

I love these little flowers

Because the butterflies are so chunky, I tried to make the rest of the elements chunky too

Hope you are enjoying this beautiful Autumn weather...it is the best time of the year!

Purple Pumpkin March challenge

Hi everyone...when I first saw the Purple pumpkin sketch this month.... I thought...nah too hard...but now a few weeks later...I thought I would break it down and keep it simple and I quite like what I came up with!
Here is the sketch...

And this is my interpretation....

Can't believe it's purple AGAIN!!....wonder what Lizzy will say?
Beautiful black arrow by Charms Creations...thank you
Stars from The Trinket Track
Butterflies are Little Birdie...which were kraft but I splashed a bit of yellow paint on to tie in with the yellow title

A strip of washi tape

I am so disappointed that I smudged my journaling...I thought it was dry when I rubbed the lines out...
"Jack and Gemma , your relationship as brother and sister is one in a million. The way you play together, your love for each other...blows this Nanna away!"

OUAS March

This is my first time participating in a challenge at Once upon a sketch
Really enjoyed doing this...the quote for journaling inspiration and the sketch are fabulous!

I have used a photo of my daughter with her family...a selfie...it's such a fun photo and shows their happiness and strength to overcome lots of health issues...I am so proud of them and love them to bits!

Background made with gelatos and stamping

Finally got around to using my A2Z Scraplets film strip

The gelatos worked rather well on these Foam thickers and the stamp is from Hero Arts

This lovely flower is from the Trinket Track, which I have plopped in the middle of some cheesecloth
and then used gelatos on a few pieces

I have added a few rub ons

Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge March 15th

Time for a sketch at Another Scrappy Freaking Challenge

I always freak out when I see circles on sketches...and I haven't used patterned paper for quite a while now....so this is a bit different for me......

This is our eldest Grand Child Jack...he has just turned 9 and this was our first Birthday present from us. I had bought this paper and brads with a voucher I had won and have dying to use it, but I must admit I hadn't planned to use it this way!

He is still a blondie with beautiful dark eyes!

I thought the background might be too overpowering, but in real life it looks just fine

Color Me Scrappy March 15th

Time for the next challenge at Color me Scrappy...so pretty

Strangely enough I struggled with this one....

I think I started off with my brick template and then  drew around the bricks and added gelatos and paint and done some stamping and.......couldn't get it right!

I thought this made a cool butterfly!

Thanks Mary Bennets for the Always sentiment from years ago at The Boxx

Glacia loves my little garden ornaments...especially the little birds...but now likes this worm, which she gave to me that day for a Xmas present
